The Glynn County Airport Commission (GCAC) has approved acceptance of a $1.1 million federal grant through the Georgia Dept. of Transportation. The grant will fund the design of Runway 4-22 pavement rehabilitation, runway safety area improvements and engineered material arresting system (EMAS) at the St. Simons Island Airport.

The approved project budget totals $1,190,083. Funding will come from the grant, $1,126.779 and $63,304 from the Airport Capital Improvement budget.

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners approved the grant at their Oct. 15 meeting.
