Follow-Up Mosquito Samples Test Negative for West Nile Virus

The testing was conducted as part of increased population monitoring following a positive mosquito sample confirmed on September 17. In response, Vector Disease Control International (VDCI), Glynn County’s mosquito control contractor, conducted four ground spray missions, increased population monitoring throughout the affected area and completed targeted larvicide treatments.

Initial response efforts have been completed. VDCI will continue increased population monitoring and larvicide applications in the area over the next few weeks.

There are currently no reported human cases of West Nile virus in Glynn County.
