More road work: Sea Island Road at Black Banks starts tomorrow (Wed. 9/16/26)

Georgia Power will begin utility work along Sea Island Road near Black Banks Drive at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16. The work supports Georgia Power’s reconstruction of transmission lines and future utility improvements.
The work will take place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The road may be reduced to one lane at times with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. These hours were set to limit traffic impacts as much as possible, and Georgia Power has indicated that daytime operations are required for safety.
Travelers should expect delays and follow all posted road‑safety signage. Work is expected to continue for approximately three weeks and conclude on October 7.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to slow down, follow posted signage, allow additional travel time, and use caution when traveling through the area.  Glynn County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is underway.
