Glynn Libraries plan for future
The Marshes of Glynn Libraries and Glynn County are planning for the future of the Libraries System. A master plan will guide future decisions for a potential new library branch on the mainland as well as improvements to the St. Simons Island Library and the entire Casino Building.
Two public meetings are scheduled in August for residents to offer their input which will play an important role in developing a roadmap that reflects the needs and priorities of the Marshes of Glynn Libraries System for years to come.
Public Meetings

Future Library Branch – Thursday, August 13

Brunswick Library
208 Gloucester Street, Brunswick
This session will focus on planning for a potential new library branch to serve Glynn County’s growing population.
An online community survey will open Thursday, August 13 and remain available through Thursday, August 27, offering residents another way to share their priorities and ideas for the Facilities Master Plan.
Glynn County has selected McMillan Pazdan Smith (MPS) to lead the planning process. MPS is a nationally recognized architecture, planning, and interior design firm with extensive experience in public library design. The firm developed the Brunswick Library’s 2014 master plan and led its renovation completed in 2019. MPS will guide the public engagement process, demographic analysis, conceptual planning, and recommendations for both the potential new library branch and the St. Simons Island Library and Casino Building.
“If you’re a regular library visitor, attend events at the Casino Building, or simply care about the future of our community, we encourage you to participate,” said Geri Mullis, Director of Marshes of Glynn Libraries. “Every voice helps us better understand how these spaces can continue serving Glynn County for generations to come.”
