Red Terror Raiders bring home the 2026 Marine Corps Raider National Championship

On May 9 the Glynn Academy Marine Corps JROTC Raider team traveled to Molena, Georgia where they competed in the MCJROTC National Raider Championships.
The competition included the top ten teams from all over the country.
After a tough day of competition the Glynn Academy team was either 1st or 2nd in every event and clinched the National Championship with an overall 1st place.
The team, coached by MSgt Will Strohsahl, spent early morning and heat-filled afternoons practicing for months for this competition and they saw their hard work pay off with a dominating performance.
GA’s Raider team will wrap up their summer training with a week long camp at Currahee at Camp Toccoa in preparation for the upcoming 26/27 Raider season.

Ruck Relay – 1st
Physical Team Test – 2nd
Ultimate Raider – 2nd
Rope Bridge – 2nd
5k Mountain Run – 2nd
Elite MCJROCT Raider teams from across the United States came from schools in California, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia and all competed at an exceptionally high level.
MCJROTC Raider competitions test cadets in physically demanding events that emphasize endurance, teamwork, leadership, and mental toughness with approximately 250 schools nationwide participating in MCJROTC programs.
The competition is held at the Gerald Lawhorn Scouting Base in Molena, Georgia.
The Lawhorn Scouting Base is a 2,400 acre outdoor facility that includes camping, swimming & boating, shooting sports, rock climbing, challenge course, river canoeing and tubing, and much more.
Programs and facility rentals are available to Scouting units, non-profit groups, companies, and families.
