Mallery Ballfield Park to Close October 19 for Renovations

Mallery Ballfield Park on St. Simons Island will  close to the public beginning Monday, October 19, for renovations and improvements to the ballfield and surrounding park amenities.

Glynn County and the St. Simons Athletic Association (SSIAA) are partnering on the renovation and improvement of the Mallery Park Athletic fields including three baseball fields and associated park improvements.

The County is leading the project and funding the design of the renovated park. SSIAA is leading and funding the construction of the improvements.

Coleman & Company is designing the project and design coordination is underway through regular meetings among County staff, the design team, and SSIAA. Construction is targeted for completion ahead of the Spring 2027 season.

The park is expected to remain closed through the end of February 2027 while construction is underway. The closure will not affect the tennis courts, pickleball courts or dog park located within Kings Park. The park office will also remain accessible for recreation program registration, facility rentals and general inquiries.
Park restrooms will be closed during construction, but temporary restrooms will be available for public use in Kings Park.
