Forward Brunswick Welcomes Christopher Greene to Board of Directors
Forward Brunswick has announced the appointment of Christopher “Chris” Greene to its Board of Directors, bringing extensive executive leadership, nonprofit management, manufacturing, fundraising, and international development experience to the organization.
Greene currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Meds & Food for Kids (MFK), a U.S.–Haiti humanitarian nutrition nonprofit that manufactures and distributes specialized nutritious foods for children and mothers. In this role, he leads an organization of more than 90 employees across the United States and Haiti, with an annual operating budget exceeding $5 million. MFK works with organizations including UNICEF, the World Food Programme, Haitian public institutions, and other humanitarian partners.
During his tenure as CEO, Greene has helped expand MFK from a production-focused organization into an integrated operation encompassing manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, agriculture, and last-mile distribution. He also leads approximately $1.4 million in annual philanthropic and grant fundraising and works closely with the organization’s board on strategy, budgeting, audits, risk management, and governance.
“Chris brings an exceptional combination of executive leadership, financial and operational experience, and a genuine understanding of how strong organizations can create lasting community impact,” said Lance Sabbe, Executive Director of Forward Brunswick. “As Forward Brunswick continues to grow in both the scale and complexity of our work, having leaders like Chris at the board table will help us strengthen the organization and thoughtfully pursue new opportunities for Brunswick.”
Greene also has deep ties to the Brunswick community. Prior to his international humanitarian work, he was co-owner of Light Vending Company, Inc. in Brunswick, where he helped operate a food and beverage distribution company serving Southeast Georgia and led a team of more than 20 employees. He later founded GCG Consulting in Brunswick, advising food, agriculture, and manufacturing organizations on operations, finance, quality systems, facility design, and performance management.
His international experience includes eight years living and working in Haiti. In addition to his executive roles with MFK, Greene founded the Pursuit of Happiness English Institute in Gonaïves, Haiti, creating educational and professional opportunities for Haitian students before ultimately transferring ownership and management to local leadership.
“I am excited to join Forward Brunswick’s Board and contribute to an organization that is turning ideas about revitalization into tangible projects,” Greene said. “Brunswick has tremendous assets and opportunities, and I believe lasting progress comes from strengthening local businesses, neighborhoods, and institutions. I look forward to working with the Board and staff to build on the momentum already underway.”
