Glynn County to Honor 25th Anniversary of September 11 Attacks with Community Ceremony

Glynn County will host a community remembrance ceremony at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11 to mark the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, honoring the nearly 3,000 lives lost and recognizing the courage of first responders, service members, and everyday Americans whose actions defined the nation’s resilience.

Local leaders, public safety personnel, veterans, students, and residents will gather on the steps of the main Glynn Courthouse at 701 H Street in Brunswick.

The ceremony will include moments of silence aligned with the timeline of the attacks, musical tributes, and the presentation and retiring of colors by local law enforcement.

Keynote remarks will be delivered by Larry Thompson, former United States Deputy Attorney General, whose leadership at the Department of Justice helped shape national security coordination in the aftermath of September 11.
