Holding Space: Glimpses of the Divine Art, Connection, and Quiet Transformation

Glynn Visual Arts (GVA) presents a multi-sensory exhibition blending paintings and sculptural works with conceptual and performance art by local artist and author Randy Siegel. Siegel’s art focuses on personal and spiritual growth and has been described as “postcards from the psyche.”

The public is invited to a free reception with Siegel on Thursday, July 30, from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Portman Gallery at GVA, 106 Island Dr., St. Simons Island. The exhibit will remain on view through September 4, 2026.

The opening reception will feature not only his multimedia 2D and 3D art, but also an interactive performance piece. Guests are invited to sit in stillness – “holding space” – with Randy while offering silent presence, intention, and prayer.

Influenced by his love for outsider art, Jungian psychology, and spirituality, Siegel delves into the subconscious to challenge viewers to think, feel, and perhaps remember something of themselves once forgotten. A communal prayer receptacle, in the form of a nostalgic vintage gum machine, will encourage attendees to share expressions of gratitude and praise much like at a public prayer wall.

Siegel’s work has been widely exhibited in Saint Simons Island, Georgia and Asheville, North Carolina. Whether teaching, coaching, writing, or painting, Siegel aspires to inspire all with whom he encounters “to stand in their power by becoming the full expression of all they are.”
