Rick Jackson will be the Republican nominee for Governor of Georgia. Billionaire businessman Jackson won the runoff against the current Lieutenant Governor, Burt Jones, by five and a half points, despite Jones receiving an early endorsement from Donald Trump and a late endorsement from Governor Brian Kemp. Jackson will face former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in November.

Governor Kemp went 0 for 2 in endorsements yesterday as his hand-picked Senate candidate Derek Dooley fell in the runoff to Mike Collins by a dozen points. Collins will take on Democrat incumbent Jon Ossoff in the fall.

Amanda Hollowell defeated former two-time nominee Joyce Griggs for an opportunity to represent the Democrats in the race for the District 1 House seat formerly held by Buddy Carter. She’ll face Jim Kingston, son of longtime District 1 Congressman Jack Kingston in November.

Greg Dolezal defeated John F Kennedy by eight and a half in the runoff for Lieutenant Governor on the Republican ballot, while Josh McLaurin topped Nabilah Parkes by ten on the Democrat ballot. Dolezal and McLaurin will face off in the general election.

Tim Fleming defeated Vernon Jones in the runoff for Secretary of State by nearly 30 points. Fleming will be taking on Penny Brown Reynolds, who defeated Dana Barrett in the Democrat runoff yesterday. 

Incumbent State School Superintendent Richard Woods eked out a runoff win over Bubba Longgrear. Woods will defend his seat against Democrat Lydia Powell.

The Democrat runoff to face John King for Insurance Commissioner went to Keisha Sean Waites, who defeated DeAndre Mathis by 18 points.

The Democrat runoff for Labor Commissioner went to Nikki Porcher, a 24-point winner over Michelle Michi Sanchez.
