The polls are open from 7 till 7 today in the primary runoff election. There are six races on the Republican ballot, including governor and US Senate. There are five races on the Democrat ballot including US House District 1 and Lieutenant Governor. Results will be available at GlynnCounty.org.
Glynn County Police K9 Chief was laid to rest Thursday. The five-year veteran of the Glynn County Police department died shortly after suffering a brain bleed. Sgt Bill Duggan was his handler. The day before the service, Glynn County Police announced the arrival of K9 Harbor to the force. He will be partnered with Officer Remington Henderson
The Georgia Bulldogs lost a hard fought contest to unranked Oklahoma in the College World Series last night 4-3. They are still alive but will go into the losers bracket. They’ll play an elimination game against Texas tonight at 8 on ESPN. Georgia won the first meeting between the teams Saturday night. If they win, they’ll have to beat Oklahoma twice to move on.
The State Legislature will hold a special called session tomorrow to address a series of issues outlined by Governor Kemp. The first item on the list is statewide congressional redistricting for the 2028 elections. The session will also be forced to establish a way in which Georgians will be able to vote in November, as our current system of scanned QR codes will be illegal as of July 1st. Last week, the Secretary of State’s office issued guidance supporting an AI-driven method of ballot reading. That won’t likely be the legislature’s solution.
