Memorial Day weekend events in the Golden Isles

• Saturday, May 23. 11 AM Howard Coffin Park – unveiling of their new sign celebrating $2.7 million in Park improvements. Refreshments, family fun.

• Monday, May 25. 10 AM. Veterans Council of the Golden Isles ceremony. Speaker will be Air Force Col. Andrea O’Connor, commander of the Office of Special Investigations Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Patriot of the Year will be recognized.

• Monday, May 25. All Day The Coastal Georgia Historical Society will host a Memorial Day commemoration at the World War II Home Front Museum on St. Simons Island. Museum admission is free or veterans and active service members.

• Monday, May 25 6:45 PM Taps at Twilight in Neptune Park on St. Simons Island. Keynote speaker is Col. Aaron L.B. Cox,  U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
