The parking lot at Coast Guard Beach Park will open to the public on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, as construction continues on broader park improvements. Landscaping, irrigation installation, and building construction will continue on site after the parking lot opens to the public. Portable restrooms will be available for public use. The full project includes expanded parking, drainage upgrades, ADA‑accessible facilities, new walkways, dune restoration, and construction of the new three‑story lifeguard tower. It is being delivered in two phases and is expected to be complete in early 2027.

There are a number of runoffs after Tuesday’s election results were tabulated, and the runoff date is June 16. However, there is no date set yet for early voting in the runoffs. Representatives with the Glynn County Board of Elections said that the date can’t be set until after the state certifies the results of Tuesday’s elections. State law requires that early voting begin as soon as possible, and that it must run for at least a week. The latest early voting will be able to start is June 8, though election staff hopes to start it several days earlier.

Today is the final day of the school year for students in Glynn County schools. Brunswick High held their graduation last night at Glynn County Stadium, while Glynn Academy will hold theirs tonight at the stadium. Congratulations, seniors!
