Celebrate Howard Coffin Park improvements Saturday, May 23
The City of Brunswick invites the community to celebrate the official unveiling of $2.7 million in park improvements at Howard Coffin Park during a special event on Saturday, May 23 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 1402 Sonny Miller Way. The celebration will include a sign unveiling, family-friendly activities, and refreshments. The park’s pool will also open for the first day of the season from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
These upgrades were made possible through a $2.1 million grant awarded to the City by the Georgia Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget, along with $600,000 contributed in local funds, bringing the total investment to $2.7 million.
Commissioner Felicia Harris said, “The recent improvements at the park represent a meaningful investment in our community’s quality of life and demonstrates a commitment to building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community for current and future generations. The revitalized park contributes to neighborhood pride, supports local engagement, and positively impacts nearby businesses and property values. Most importantly, the park serves as a place where people from diverse backgrounds can come together, strengthening community relationships and creating opportunities for recreation, education, and cultural activities.”
