Golden Isles Republican Women to meet Nov. 9
To quote RedState contributor Bob Hoge – “Buckle Up: We Lost the Battle, but the War for the Future of the American Soul Starts… Right Now!”
It’s just 24 months until the next high-stakes election. It’s time to get to work! That starts by being informed on the issues and policies. GIRW plans to bring a lineup of speakers and subject experts on key issues.
We’re starting this month with property tax reform. Our speaker will share the options and prospects for property tax reform in Georgia along with compelling case studies of why reform is needed.
The next meeting of the Golden Isles Republican Women will be Monday, November 9 at noon in the Main Dining Room at Epworth by the Sea located at 100 Arthur J. Moore Drive on St. Simons.
The featured speaker will be Brett Harrell, former State Representative and Mayor of Snellville. He will speak on property tax reform efforts in Georgia and what these reforms can mean for Georgia residents, as well as the outlook for any reforms after the midterm results.
Brett’s policy perspective and expertise on property tax reform is shaped by a career that spans both the private sector and public service at the state and local levels. His ten-year career in the Georgia House of Representatives included service as Chair of the chief tax-writing Ways and Means Committee. He also served on the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Board. His legislative efforts have been recognized with the Legislative Service Award of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia and the Legislator of the Year Award from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
Check-in and seating start at 11:30 with the program starting at noon. The $25 cost covers full lunch, beverage, dessert, and gratuity and can be paid with cash or check made payable to “GIRW.” The planned menu for the meeting is available upon request.
To meet the planning requirements of our host location, advance reservations are needed by Friday, November 6 at noon. To make a reservation, please text or email GIRW VP Ginny Connors at 912-672-1916/ginnyconnors1@gmail.com or email GIRW Secretary Gloria Burns at gloriaburns@comcast.net
