Brunswick PorchFest Goes Out of This World with Record 77 Performers on November 8

The aliens are coming, and they’re bringing the music. Brunswick PorchFest returns to Historic Old Town Brunswick on Sunday, November 8 from noon to 6 p.m., for an out-of-this-world afternoon of live music, food, and neighborhood fun. This year’s “Porch Invaders” celebration will feature a record-breaking 77 performers on approximately 60 porches, making it the largest musical lineup in the festival’s history.

Now an annual Golden Isles tradition, Brunswick PorchFest transforms the front porches of historic homes into stages for an afternoon of free, family-friendly entertainment. Last year’s event attracted an estimated 15,000 attendees, and organizers are preparing for another extraordinary turnout.

“Every year, we wonder how PorchFest can possibly get any bigger or better, and every year, this community finds a way to surprise us,” said Jason Umfress, chair of the Brunswick PorchFest Planning Committee and the festival’s Head Gnome. “Seventy-seven performers, nearly 60 porches, and thousands of people coming together in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Georgia. That’s pretty remarkable when you consider that the whole thing is powered by neighbors, volunteers, and musicians who simply love being part of something special.”

More Food, More Fun, and More Room to Explore

In response to the festival’s continued growth, organizers are significantly expanding the food and beverage footprint for 2026. In addition to the festival’s traditional food and beverage hub around Halifax Square, a second food and beverage area will be located near Satilla Square along Norwich Street, providing festivalgoers with more dining options and encouraging visitors to explore a larger portion of the historic neighborhood.

The expansion will accommodate a record number of food and beverage vendors, offering an even wider selection of options throughout the afternoon.

“One of our goals this year was to spread the festival experience across more of Old Town,” said Lisa Rodriquez, planning committee member and food truck wrangler. “The expanded food and beverage areas give folks more choices, help distribute the crowds, and

encourage people to discover parts of the neighborhood they might not have explored before.”

An Afternoon of Music, Family Fun, and a Grand Finale

From rock and blues to jazz, country, folk, and everything in between, PorchFest offers a choose-your-own-adventure musical experience, with new performances beginning every hour throughout the neighborhood.

The afternoon will culminate at 5pm on the grand porch of the Brunswick Manor with a special closing performance by Golden Isles Music Awards Entertainers of the Year, Maple Street Band.

Families can also enjoy the return of SPARK, A Golden Isles Children’s Museum, with interactive children’s activities in Hanover Square. The popular porch decorating contest returns as well, with neighborhood residents embracing this year’s extraterrestrial “Porch Invaders” theme.

Know Before You Go: No Wheels, No Glass, and Plan Ahead

With thousands of attendees expected, organizers are encouraging visitors to plan ahead and help keep the neighborhood safe and accessible.

Designated “No Wheels Zones” will restrict golf carts, bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled transportation in heavily traveled pedestrian areas around Halifax Square. Wheelchairs and mobility-assistance devices are permitted. Glass bottles and containers are also prohibited throughout the festival.

Parking will be limited, and several neighborhood streets will be closed to through traffic. Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive early, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared to walk.

To help visitors navigate the festival, the free “Orbit Trolley” will circulate around the festival area, providing transportation between different sections of the neighborhood.

Festivalgoers are encouraged to download the official Brunswick PorchFest app, available through the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app provides an interactive festival map, performer schedules, porch locations, parking information, street closures, trolley information, and other important details.

A Festival with a Purpose

Organized entirely by volunteers in partnership with the City of Brunswick and the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority, PorchFest celebrates the unique character of Historic Old Town while bringing residents, visitors, and local businesses together.

The festival remains free to attend, thanks to the generosity of participating porch hosts, performers, volunteers, and community supporters. Proceeds from festival merchandise sales go to benefit New Roots Glynn and Sparrow’s Nest, continuing the festival’s tradition of giving back to the community.

“At the end of the day, PorchFest has never been just about the music,” Umfress said. “It’s about community. It’s about celebrating this incredible neighborhood, supporting our community, and making sure that everyone feels welcome. It’s the one day of the year when porches become stages and strangers become friends. And that’s something worth celebrating.”
