Glynn County Police Department Announces 2026 Citizens Academy

The Glynn County Police Department invites members of the community to get a closer look at the people, programs, and challenges that make up modern law enforcement through the Glynn County Police Department Citizens Academy.

The six-week Citizens Academy will be held every Monday from October 5 through November 9, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at GCPD Police Headquarters, 157 Carl Alexander Way. 

The Citizens Academy is designed to strengthen the relationship between Glynn County residents and their police department through education, communication, and firsthand insight into the work of law enforcement.

Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the daily responsibilities of police officers, the challenges they face, and the many ways the department works to keep the community safe, giving citizens a better understanding of law enforcement while creating opportunities for open dialogue and collaboration.

“The Citizens Academy is an opportunity for our community to see the people behind the badge and learn what it really takes to serve Glynn County,” said Glynn County Police Chief Bryan Sipe. “When citizens and law enforcement understand each other better, we can work together more effectively to address the issues that matter most to our community.”
