Expired Flare Drill Scheduled for Saturday, July 25
Flotilla 10-10 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, in partnership with Brunswick Landing Marina, will conduct a training exercise using expired aerial and hand-held flares at the marina. The drill is scheduled for Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m.
The drill is intended to provide hands-on safety training and to prevent expired flares from entering hazardous waste landfills or local waterways.
Some of the aerial flares may be visible from long distances. Drivers and nearby residents may notice visual distress signals during the exercise. These sightings are likely related to the scheduled drill and do not indicate an emergency.
We appreciate your awareness and cooperation as safety teams conduct this important training.
