Final Friday night hoops tonight

This year’s Friday Night Hoops program will have its final night tomorrow night, July 17, at the Glynn Academy Annex gym (thanks Board of Education!). This program gets better every year.
- The program ran all 4 Friday nights in June plus July 10 & 17
- The program grew to an average of over 100 kids, per night, this year, which was the goal
- Between 50 – 60 high school kids participated each night which really was the target. This gave them all an option for Friday nights instead of hanging out on the streets or elsewhere.
- The kids were fed meals plus many had take home food.
- 39 pairs of shoes were purchased for the kids most in need
- Many kids showed up to play in crocs/flip flops
- Again this year kids were sharing shoes
- Several had shoes too small
- Many had completely worn out shoes with holes
- Volunteer numbers increased – which is very much appreciated by County Manager Bill Fallon and his staff.
If anyone would like to come by, the program starts tomorrow night at 6 PM.
Again, this program has been successful and impactful over the last 3 years due to the community’s generosity. We live in a great community with a lot of caring people.
