American Red Cross Opens Third Shelter to Support Families Displaced by South Georgia Wildfires
As wildfires threaten multiple communities across South Georgia, the American Red Cross has opened a new shelter in Jesup to provide safe refuge and critical support for evacuees. This is the third shelter the Red Cross has opened in Georgia to serve people impacted by these fires. Working in close coordination with local emergency management and government officials, Red Cross teams are assisting residents impacted, including the Pineland Road fire and the Highway 82 fire in Brantley County, as conditions continue to evolve.

Individuals evacuating to a Red Cross shelter should bring essential items for each member of their family, including:
· Prescription and emergency medications
· Foods that meet special dietary requirements
· Extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies and other comfort items
· Chargers for any electronic devices
