Former commissioner holds press conference asking hit and run driver to come forward

This morning, Thursday, Oct. 29, former Glynn County District 2 Commissioner Cap Fendig held a press conference asking the hit and run driver who caused the death of Nathaniel Ingram in April to turn himself or herself in.

Ingram was walking along Frederica Road near the Frederica / Kings Way roundabout in the early hours of Sunday morning on April 26 when he was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.

Ingram was struck a second time by the driver of a Corolla who stopped and called for help. The Georgia State Patrol investigated the accident and does not believe the driver of the Corolla is who struck Ingram first.

Fendig said that investigators have no description of the initial vehicle that struck Ingram. “We are still looking for tips and information,” Fendig said, “and someone to come forward. We hope the person who did that gets this message.”

To date no one has been arrested in the death.

Ingram was from Birmingham, Alabama and worked on the tall ship Lynx that docks at Morningstar Marina.
