Glynn County’s Marshes of Glynn Libraries (MOGL) is on the move – literally. Yesterday, Tuesday, Oct.27, Geri Lynn Mullis, MOGL Director, and her staff unveiled MOGL’s new bookmobile.
To say the mini bus is colorful is an understatement. The wrap was designed by local artist Kevin Bongang and guaranteed to be noticed.
The bookmobile, sponsored by Georgia Pacific, Rich Products Corporation, and Glynn County along with private funding, will hold Meet and Greet stops during November and December. Logistics and routes will be worked out during this time, Mullis said.
Find November and December dates, times, locations on the MOGL website.
In January the bookmobile will be on the road in earnest. Every Tuesday stops will include Baldwin Park, North Glynn Park, Goodyear Park and Selden Park. On Wednesday the bookmobile will be on St. Simons Island at Glynn Haven Park.
Outreach stops are planned and will include senior homes, schools, day care centers, and local events.
Check the MOGL website for updates and route information.
The bookmobile comes with its own staff including Manager Diana Graham and two outreach library assistants Katy and Parker. You will see both of these ladies either driving the mini bus or helping check out books.
“The bookmobile is part of the strategic plan in increasing library services to efficiently meet the needs for community growth in Glynn County,” Mullis said.
