GCPD make arrest in Pier shooting

Glynn County Police arrested 25 year old Sheldon Whorley of Brunswick for aggravated assault in the alleged shooting of a 19 year old male early Sunday Morning.
Glynn County police responded to the St. Simons Pier Village after receiving a shots fired report. After investigating officers determined a physical altercation had occurred in the area prior to the shooting and within minutes made contact with Whorley.
Whorley was interviewed by Glynn County Police and during the initial investigation no information that any person was struck was received.
At 4:30 Sunday morning a a 19-year-old male arrived at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus emergency room with a non life threatening gunshot wound believed to be connected to the earlier shots fired incident. Whorley was then arrested.

This incident remains ongoing. Additional arrests and charges are possible as more evidence and individuals involved are identified.
