BOC to hold millage rate public hearings

The Glynn County Board of Commissioners (BOC) has scheduled three public hearings on the 2026 millage rate. The BOC has tentatively adopted a general fund millage rate of 3.864 mils which is the same millage rate as last year. However keeping the millage rate the same results in a 6.65 percent increase over the rollback rate and is considered a tax increase. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $450,000 is approximately $38, and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $475,000 is approximately $46.

• Thursday, August 20 – 6 p.m. – Historic Glynn County Courthouse, 701 “G” Street, 2nd Floor Commissioners’ Meeting Chambers
