St. Simons Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 80th birthday beginning Friday, Sept. 25 with dinner at 6 p.m. and a keynote presentation by Dr. Eric Barreto of Princeton Theological Seminary. On Saturday the celebration continues with a Day of Service and on Sunday a potluck luncheon will be held in the Social will follow the late worship service.
First Baptist Church Brunswick will hold its First Students Fall Retreat at Look Up Lodge, Travelers Rest, S.C., Oct. 10 – Oct. 13. The Sons of Jubal will be in concert in the Church Oct. 22 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
First Baptist Church St. Simons Island will hold Church at the Beach on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m. Bring a chair to the service held on the beach directly across the street from the Church.
Brunswick First United Methodist Church welcomes Rev. Dr. Tara Paul as Senior Pastor. She has a BA from University of Georgia in Religion, a Master of Divinity from Emory University, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary and has served at Dacula First UMC (Pastor to Youth and Families), Mountain Park UMC (Associate), Avondale Patillo (Senior Pastor), Birmingham UMC (Associate), and Inman Park UMC (Senior Pastor).
Christ Church, Frederica will hold their annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 2 pm to 4 pm outside the Parish Hall. Blessings will be offered in a drive-through format. On Friday, Oct. 2 members of Christ Church will celebrate Simchat Torah with friends at Temple Beth Telfilloh at 6:30 pm.

North Brunswick Christian Church, 3131 Cypress Mill Rd, Brunswick will host a “DOG-GONE GOOD FALL FEST” on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 5-7 pm. This FREE community event will feature Hot Dogs on the grill, Inflatable Obstacle Course, Trunks, Treats, Giveaways and More. Fun for all ages.
Bible Baptist Church begins its Bible Baptist Institute Monday, September 14. The three year certificate program meets from 7 to 9 pm each Monday and is free. It is open to everyone whether they want to complete the program or just learn more about the Bible. Bible Baptist is located at 500 Harry Driggers Blvd. Offerings this year include Old Testament I, New Testament I, Bible Doctrines I.
Beginning Tuesday, September 15, Grace Community Church in Brunswick will host Grief Share, a 13 week directed support group that meets weekly. It is a program to help people dealing with the loss of a loved one. The loss can be recent or some time ago, but the grief remains.
