Ken Smith of Kingsland was the winner of a key that could start an RV in New York City on July 3. Smith and his wife attended Tortuga Jack’s yesterday morning as Fox and Friends brought their America 250 tour to Jekyll. Smith had one of 300 entries and was chosen at random by Fox News host Steve Doocy. There are six stops on the tour and at each stop a key is given away. The winner will start the RV on Fox and Friends In New York on July 3.
Glynn County has won the 2026 Georgia County excellence award, presented by the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia and Georgia Trend Magazine. The recognition was given to recognize the county’s Friday Night Hoops program. This year’s edition of Friday night hoops starts next Friday, June 5 at the Glynn Academy Annex Gym and will run through July 17.
Acting off of a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Kingsland Police launched an investigation that culminated in the arrest of 28 year old Joseph Matthew Baker on three counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. He was taken to the Camden County Jail.
The Georgia Public Service Commission approved a plan yesterday that should save the average ratepayer $50 a year, or $4.04 a month. The rate decrease is set to begin next month.
