A crash between two boats in Effingham County near Stokes Bluff Landing Sunday evening resulted in the death of 25 year old William Ligon III of Pooler. Ligon was the son of former State Senator William Ligon and grandson of Pastor Bill Ligon. The other three people involved in the crash survived, one being taken to the hospital for further treatment. THe Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency in the continuing investigation into the crash.

A man riding a bicycle Sunday crossed into the southbound lanes of Martin Luther king, Jr boulevard in Brunswick. He then went in front of passing vehicles, where he was struck and severely injured. He was taken by helicopter to Jacksonville.
